Coup in Goldenvale
[02/02/2003] [News]Squire Goliath, the new monarch of the Kingdom of Goldenvale, reversed the results of their recent crown qualifications and ousted Dame Willow from the office of champion in an Althing. Willow had qualified and declared for the office of champion. King Goliath invited her to be his consort, but she was not there to accept, so the king held an Althing to decide what to do in case she refused. The Althing decided that a tournament for the office of champion would be held in which any reeve-qualified individual could fight. Willow declined to become consort after hearing of this, choosing instead to become Champion of Goldenvale. King Goliath appointed someone else as his consort and ordered the tournament to proceed as planned. Squire Skieve won the tournament and was declared champion. Skieve is not qualified for the office as dictated by Corpora. King Goliath reportedly said he would not go against the Althing's decision to decide the office of champion via a tournament. Twenty-three members of the Duchy of Wolven Fang have signed an open letter to the Kingdom of Goldenvale protesting the unprofessional conduct of their kingdom.
