[09/01/2003] [Sage]The September Forecast (August 27, 2003 to September 25, 2003) The New Moon ruling September takes place August 27th, at 11:27am MDT at 04* Virgo. The new moon in Libra will occur September 25th. A Special Note: The time from New Moon to New Moon (called a synodic month) is 29.53 days. Because we started these monthly forecasts with the February 1st New Moon, you'll see the beginning of our Astrological Month slide slowly into the prior Calendar Month. Why does this happen? Because the Solar Calendar we plan our day-to-day lives by does not mesh cleanly with the Lunar Calendar (which fits 13 Moons into the solar year). Thus, the last five days of August will fall within the "October" forecast. Astrology studies the connection of our solar system's orbital mechanics with our daily lives. Newspaper Astrology falsely implies that the Sun is the only important point in the sky. To understand real astrology you need a natal chart (a snapshot of the solar system at the moment of your birth). You can get a good free chart from Astrolabe or Astrodienst. Realize that all the planets and signs are vital, and the interaction of their archetypes is just as complex and varied as we are. Please note that if your Sun (or any planet) is on the cusp between signs, you have a blend of both types of energy. Again, any time you check your horoscope, always read your Moon (needs) sign, Sun (ego) sign, and Ascendant (personality).
For Everyone After all the fire of August, you'd think that the new moon in Virgo would bring us a bit of a respite. With Venus and Jupiter conjoined with the Sun and Moon, there will be some nice times ahead. Unfortunately, the day after the new moon, we have Mercury stationing retrograde, Mars hitting its 60,000 year perigee (closest approach to earth), and Pluto stationing direct. And all of this happens with Uranus and Mars in direct opposition to the new moon. What this means is that we should expect an alternately peaceful and volatile month. We will have enormous supplies of energy for working out all the final details of the work we've been doing for the last couple of months. Applying finishing touches will feel wonderful and allow us to show off the perfect expression of our ideas. It's time for that brilliant moment where a great thought manifests into a great reality. The difficulties arise with our tempers. Frustration may run rampant, especially as we come up against, perceived slights, massive communication breakdowns, and boundaries we didn't think applied to us. All details will need to be triple-checked, plans re-confirmed, and data files backed up. Go slow and be patient. For adults, this will come to bear especially in hobbies and close relationships. Parents may notice it also in increased combativeness in their children. Provide creative and playful outlets for all this pent-up energy, and provide enough of them so that your outlet doesn't become yet another source of stress. If you neglect this need, don't be surprised if you get tangled up in acts of self- sabotage. Last, Pluto resumes its apparent forward motion, which should correspond with some very significant political shifts in the coming month. The power of transformation is well on its way to steamrolling the status quo, transcending the real world and our various hobbies. It's time to let go of old, outworn processes, and embrace new ways of doing things.
Aries (Mar 21-Apr 19) September may feel uncomfortably as if you are playing catch-up, Aries. Things are looking good at work, but expect some tension on the homefront. Do whatever chores or housekeeping necessary to make home a place you really can relax. Do be very aware of stress- related illnesses. Don't allow a small annoyance to become a chronic health condition. Taurus (Apr 20-May 20) The time has come for you to fall in love again, this month. No, that doesn't mean a change in partner is necessary, just that you'll find yourself feeling especially romantic and loving. Do not expect your partner to read your mind, and don't get angry if you don't feel sufficiently appreciated. Jumpstart the romance yourself, and articulate exactly what you want. Gemini (May 21-June 20) This month brings the potential for significant conflict with authority, especially over who is responsible for what tasks. Competitiveness may cause someone to pull rank on you at work. Things feel good in your homelife, though job stress will undercut it as much as you allow. Release tension with small-scale home improvement. Find the pleasure in the details. Cancer (June 21-July 22) You may well be feeling an unusual need to express your thoughts and feelings this month. Run with it. Talk or write it out, but express this cycle of energy with respect for your loved ones. Travel plans and logistics of the new semester may be frustrating, but it's mostly a matter of failing to secure the details first. Avoid passive aggression when a good conversation will resolve the tension. Leo (July 23-Aug 22) For the first time in a long time, this month brings you some very good news. Your self- esteem gets a big boost, and financial improvements are likely. As always, this will put you at a greater or equal risk of overextending yourself. Creditors lurk in the background; don't ignore them. A little due diligence goes a long way. Set some long-term career goals. Virgo (Aug 23-Sept 22) Happy Birthday! With five planets presently tracking through your sign, you're in for a busy month. The great news is that you feel like you're glowing. The tricky part is not getting too absorbed in the heightened self-assurance. There's a very real risk right now of severely alienating your partner. Go out of your way to let them know how much you value their love. Libra (Sept 23-Oct 22) You may find it especially hard to hold your balance this month, Libra. It's time to have a look at the skeletons in your closet and see which ones can be put to rest. Chronic health complaints improve dramatically, but short term ailments are a little more likely than normal. Institutions (schools, hospitals, jails, etc.) demand your attention. Scorpio (Oct 23-Nov 21) This month you have love on the brain. You feel appreciated, and friends may seem to be falling out of the woodwork. It's a good feeling, but trouble may be brewing in your sex life and in the way you express love to your partner. Hidden resentments are ready to be brought to light and healed. Take some time to consider how you would transform your life, if given the chance. Sagittarius (Nov 22-Dec 21) September brings with it some wonderful energy for your career. You're doing things right, and you're being noticed for it. Things are going so well, in fact, that you may find yourself spending more time at work than necessary to avoid your homelife. Avoidance, however, will only cause minor frustrations to snowball into major issues. Gently talk things out. Capricorn (Dec 22-Jan 19) Miscommunication is going to be the major bugbear of September. Be careful not to jump to conclusions or make undue assumptions. It's a good time to take a class in something you always wanted to learn. Don't be surprised if your inner wanderlust starts crying out to you. Mercury retrograde wreaks havoc on trips, but always provides adventure. Just confirm everything three times before you go. Aquarius (Jan 20-Feb 18) This month you'll get good news from creditors, and any effort you put into metaphysics or digging up hidden knowledge will feel like no effort at all. The challenge you'll face, though, lies in being true to yourself. You may feel like your self-expression is being thwarted. Don't get paranoid; realize instead that you're gestating a new sense of self. Be patient and let yourself grow. Pisces (Feb 19-Mar 20) September finds you craving a new relationship, or new stage in your current relationship, more than anything. You have great hopes for something better than ever...so much that you may get carried away and start neglecting essential, if less sexy, parts of your life. Work toward a new, healthier balance between exerting your selfhood and compromising with others.
