Ditching for Charity
[03/07/2004] [Dalos]I will be running a marathon ditch for charity at Spring War. This will benefit the Ronald Mcdonald house of Austin, a worthy charity that furnishes housing for people with children that have extended hospital stays. Here is the basis: you contribute a minimum of $10, either via cash or check, and you're in. You should also get sponsors who will contribute money as well even if they do not want to participate themselves. Look for me or another volunteer to sign you in and out. One fifteen minutes break per hour is allowed for drinking and rest. This will run throughout Spring War from when I get there (Thursday night, or earlier if I can get someone to sign people in ahead of time) till 2 am on Saturday when we will tally the final results and award the prizes. Wait, did I say prizes? That is correct. I will award the top three finishers with prizes. Some additional rules. Times during court and the war will not count as we do not want to detract from other Spring War activities. Basically the idea is to get as many people ditching for as long as possible and of course to help the children! Additional times that may not count may be added at the discretion of the War-o-Crat or Spring War Autocrat. Please make checks payable to Ronald Mcdonald House Charities of Austin. If anyone would like to volunteer to help keep time, especially if you will be there Wednesday, please let me know via the forums as soon as possible.
