Balthazar's Four
[11/14/2004] [News]Three months after an Althing waived the kingdom bylaws that forbade him from running for office due to inactivity, King Balthazar knighted four people at Goldenvale’s midreign. Counting his former squire Goliath, whose basement served as the setting for court, this raises the total number of people knighted by Balthazar this reign to five. This flurry of knightings has reportedly caused one of Goldenvale’s knights to drop his belt. The knighting that was expected was Sir Wolfen, who, at least for a few minutes, held the title of Amtgard’s newest flame knight. The knightings that followed included Sir Balthor (Crown), Sir Thorvald (Serpent), and Sir Pollux (Flame). Of the three surprise knightings, only Balthor was discussed by the Goldenvale Circle of Knights. The other two are controversial for falling short of the qualifications suggested by Goldenvale’s corpora. All of these new knights are members of Goldenvale’s sponsored chapters. Although they both failed to pass Crown Quals, Thorvald and Pollux currently hold office in Blackfire Pass. Balthor and Wolfen come from Wolven Fang and Crystal Groves, respectively.
